Product:Visual Importer
Version:3.1.69 Release Date:Apr 4 2004
Review (date Apr 6 2004 ):
It is an interesting package used for data transformation with nice features at a quite reasonable price. From the visual point of view, some features are realized in a somewhat more usable manner than in MS DTS. Besides, the product supports some Oracle-specific features. We should also notice that the software has a number of drawbacks. We think the most considerable of them is that it is impossible to create target tables and one can only transfer data to already existing ones. Some interface solutions can also cause difficulties in using the product. Along with the main package, the authors offer the OCX component (a separate product) making it possible to include VImp functionality into applications under development.
