This software product is used for creating reports based on SQL requests. It is said to directly support MS SQL, ORACLE, MS Access. In fact it works well and safely with MS Access. The connection to ORACLE is not possible if the Server name contains some specific symbols (for example, BEQ-LOCAL is not considered to be a server name and is not processed). It is difficult to connect to MS SQL, but even when the connection was established, we could not create a single request due to the program errors. If you can manage the problems with establishing the connection and quit working with MS SQL, you will be able to create really good beautiful complex reports containing RTF fields, OLE objects, etc. We could not find the declared feature of "publishing to the XML format"; it is not mentioned in the Help as well. One of the main drawbacks of the program is that RepTool changes system files during the installation, thus causing the ODBC system to malfunction. We think that the program has a large potential, but version 1.0 is way too far from being complete even with Service Pack 1 installed. Service pack 1 is available at the product page and you'll have to install it if you are planning to use the program anyway.
