Visual SQL-Designer has been declared as a tool for the quick and visual creation of SQL-requests supporting OLAP. Actually, building more or less complex requests is not easy. Some usual SQL-expressions can be included into the request only by editing it manually. An attempt to create insert, update or delete requests results only in a message saying that this feature will appear only in the future version. Creating the simplest request select * from a table is not permitted by the designer, though the field * is added to tables. The program interface is too complicated and working easily with it is out of the question. "Unselectable" datasources that disappear from the list from time to time speak for themselves.
The advantages of the program are working with OLAP and creating nice html reports based on the results of requests.
We came to the conclusion that this program can be of interest only for those who work with OLAP cubes, but do not plan to purchase any serious packages.
