A utility for monitoring sessions in real time intended for using by an administrator of the Oracle 8.0-8i database. In the first place, its usability is achieved by putting together practically everything that an administrator engaged in monitoring users working with a database may need. It allows viewing detailed information on the session, variously arranged statistics, session events, requests being processed, performing capture sql and killing the session, if necessary. Along with the data on a separate session, one can view the current information about the entire database and quickly modify dynamic system parameters.
Another strong side of the program is the interface which can be adjusted to fit the current task - having selected what is important, one can easily switch between sessions and tabs with the previously opened windows. At the same time, one can easily open the necessary window or close the unnecessary one.
The following insignificant problems have been encountered:
- failed to send a LAN pop-up message to users;
- in the session list the last command performed by the session was displayed as UNKNOWN in most cases, while on the Session SQL page it was displayed quite correctly.
The program seems to be a very successful solution for the tasks of its class.
