We rate each product that has been reviewed. Of course, both the review and the rating are only personal opinions of the review editor, but our editors are practicing professionals with wide experience in the field of working with databases. Our rating is based on a 10-point scale. The default rating of any parameter is 5, which means that we found nothing special to point out. The rating higher than 5 stands for good qualities and features, while less than 5 points denote drawbacks and shortcomings. We rate a program by the following parameters:

Usability the convenience of using the program. This rating reflects the convenience of the interface, how easy it is to install and use the product and also how well it follows the standard rules of organizing user interfaces.
Performance the product performance, how the actual performance corresponds to the expectations based on the previous use of similar utilities and products.
Reliability stability and safety. How well the program responds to various problems: loosing the connection to the server, incorrect reboot, etc.
Functionality the functionality of the product. This rating reflects how well the features of the program correspond to those that have been stated by the developer as well as how good they are compared with the similar products of other developers.
Price the cost-effectiveness analysis according to the proposed features and general impression of the program as well as comparing it with its main rivals.
Documentation the quality of the documentation provided for the product, as well as the online documentation, the availability and usability of FAQ, troubleshooting guide, etc.
Support how easy it is to get the support and what its quality is. How easy it is to send a message to the support or to access it by some other means: web-forums, the forum at the developer's site, etc.
Compatibility the compatibility with standard technologies and solutions. The use and support of the industry standards, such as ODBC, OLE DB, ADO etc.

How do we choose the programs for reviews? We choose the most interesting solutions that can be useful and can interest our readers.
